Dr. John Mahoney is a staff urologist and Associate Professor  with the Division of Urology at The Ottawa Hospital. He completed his urology residency at the University of Toronto and went on to complete a fellowship in renal transplantation at Ohio State University. He also completed a urologic oncology fellowship and Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology at McMaster University, as well as a Master’s in Leadership and Development at York University. He is currently the President of the Staff Medical Association at The Ottawa Hospital. He is also Surgical Director of renal transplantation at The Ottawa Hospital .In addition to renal transplantation he performs urologic oncology procedures as well as laparoscopy and endourology. Dr. Mahoney is licensed to practise urology in the territory of Nunavut  Canada and arranges for all residents in the Ottawa program to have an opportunity for assignment in Nunavut. He is known to enjoy his downtime at his cottage or on the tennis court.
