Dr. Ilias Cagiannos is a staff urologic oncologist with the Division of Urology at The Ottawa Hospital. He completed his urology residency at the University of Ottawa and then went on to complete a fellowship in urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. His practice involves all aspects of urologic oncology care including open, laparoscopic, endoscopic and robotic surgery. His research interests are in urologic oncology outcomes. He recently led a large multi-centre randomized controlled trial assessing the effect of hypothermia on post-operative renal function for patients receiving partial nephrectomies.   He serves as the Urologic Oncology Program Director. He is a proud Greek-Canadian and enjoys teaching the residents about the Greek origin of many words and phrases.
